Frequently Asked Questions
What xSquads is, how a squad works on your own files, and what you review before anything is sent.
General Questions
What is xSquads?
xSquads gives every knowledge worker their own xSquad: a personal squad of AI teammates that work on your own files. You review the work before anything is sent.
What is an xSquad?
An xSquad is one person's squad of AI teammates. Each teammate has a role and works on the files and folders you point it at. You direct the work and review the results.
Who is xSquads for?
Knowledge workers. A squad can help with marketing, research, support, operations, finance, HR, legal, product and other office work. Software delivery is Software Factory, a separate page. It is not a managed service: engineers run cloud coding agents that raise pull requests from user stories, review agents check each pull request and request fixes, and self-improving loops feed lessons back.
Who founded xSquads?
Raina Rufus founded xSquads.
How It Works
Do I need Slack or Git?
No. xSquads is a desktop app. You point a mission at a folder on your computer. Slack and Git are not required.
Where do my files live?
The app runs on your machine. Your files and folders are read and edited in place. We do not copy your folders to an xSquads server.
When a bot works on a task, the prompt and the file content it needs for that task are sent to the AI engine handling it. The security page has the full account of what stays on your computer and what leaves it.
Does a squad send work on its own?
No. You review the work before anything is sent. Nothing is treated as final until you approve it.
